…at the Flea Market

2010/08/16 § 2 Comments

The outdoor flea market runs only in summer so I make sure to go before the cold sets in.  I love browsing through the merchandise  hoping for a find.  The cheaper, the better.  Inspiration abounds, especially for the artist and the entrepreneurs.  Saw many layered necklaces supposedly from the ’40s  which have experienced a renaissance in the past year and have featured prominently at J. Crew  and similar stores.  Also saw many beautiful cotton and linen tea towels, aprons and table cloth from the ’60s that have those beautiful vintage prints which are so distinctively Anthropologie’s  now.    I should probably hang out more at the flea market.  Might find one item that is yearning to be re-discovered.  No one knows where his fortune lie…mine might be amidst the tulle gowns, weathered wood and unwanted jewelry of some bygone era.
