White, Wood and Patchwork

Love cozy houses.  Simple and tactile.  Filled with light, clarity and dark spaces that calm and soothe.  Lisa Whatmough’s end-of-terrace house in London is all these.

The white space with its white walls, white wooden floors, rustic long table and benches, stacked metal chairs and beautifully patterned lamps invites one for tea or a party.

The patchwork upholstered chair and mirror cheer up the room so.

The striped and flowered teapots lend so much happiness to the modern kitchen.

The riot of color and patterns in this room is tempered by the charcoal grey walls.

The patchwork floor lamp and giant candelabra makes this cozy reading corner so much more interesting.

And I can spend hours tucked in this bed –  beautiful light streaming in, serene dove gray walls, white sheets, stripes (curtain), flowers (light fixture) and lots and lots of books.

Gray walls are a great background to all the colour 🙂 Love the photo of the dog on the patchwork-quilted bed!
