Holiday Glitter in New York City
2010/12/27 § 2 Comments
It’s the Holiday Season and there is no better place to be dazzled than in New York City.
The best and most extravagant displays are always at Bergdorf Goodman…
This year I love the minimalist, japanese inspired decor at Louis Vuitton. The windows are stacked with paper lanterns, some of which were painted or printed to resemble monogram trunks. Utterly adorable!
Giant snowflakes and elegant silhouettes atop the Chanel and Yves Saint Lauren shops on E. 57th..
The most spectacular is the Fendi building that is wrapped in their signature belt fashioned out of a gazillion fairylight.
Then there was this beautiful red dress and snowglobes at Bottega Veneta…
And preppy outfits for the uptown kiddies at Gucci…
While everyone was milling around to look in longing at the diamonds dripping from red panthers in the Cartier shop…
Elmo and Bugs Bunny join the crowd…
There are Roasted Chestnuts on every street corner…
A Chocolate Candycane Tree at La Maison du Chocolat
And a festive holiday table at Sak’s 5th Avenue
What is New York Christmas without the Giant Tree at Rockefeller and the astounding failylights at night?
And what would Christmas be without LOVE and Fairytales….
But as we all know…glitter is not what’s behind the glass windows. Real treasure and sparkle is in the smiles and love and happiness that we share to others and keep in our hearts.
A lovely holiday season to all!
