Things that Warm the Heart
2011/02/23 § 4 Comments
My beautiful friend, Carol, was in town and we had a wonderful time exploring the city and enjoying girly things.
Trying on clothes and shoes and purses. Dressing up. Wandering in and out of shops. Admiring men, hating men.
We were up and about some days, dining out, walking around.
Other days we stayed home, stuck under bed covers and just being plain lazy.
With lives so busy and with everyone scattered all over the world – I am especially thankful for times like these when I get to see friends from faraway and enjoy their presence, their company, and their spirit. Life is energized by having friends to hope and dream with. And I realize all the more how true friends who care and who worry for you lift many many burdens.
The heart is warmed by singular gestures such as when my friend lit several candles and prayed the novena for me while I was in the middle of important meetings. And when I woke up one morning with a full breakfast already cooked with a note from her. These are the days when I know that “everything is going to be all right.” Thank you, Carol!
